Biography

LaChone Pitchford completed an undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences from Eastern Illinois University. A Master of Arts degree, also in Communication Disorders and Sciences, was earned from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, one of the most prestigious Communication Programs in the country. Her career  began in 1998 and has spanned all environments including skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, public and private preschools and elementary schools, service in hospitals that range from the Neonatal Unit to the Intensive Care Unit. Continuing education has been provided to nurses and medical physicians in the areas of feeding and swallowing protocol as well as stroke awareness and prevention classes to the neighboring community. LaChone aspires to learn more and remains up to date with the latest of research, techniques,  and therapy tools by attending continuing education classes, seminars, and conferences. She is a certified member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the Illinois Speech and Hearing Association (ISHA) and is licensed within the State of Illinois.

The desire to launch a private practice stems from over 20 years of experience helping a wide range of children, parents, adults, and professionals reach their communication goals.
